08/26/2005: "I'm a railroad tycoon as well."

I just spilled ramen on my laptop, my floor, and myself. Wether this is an omen of things to come or not is still under consideration.

::finishes ramen broth:: Ahhh yes...that is indeed the stuff. Now where to begin...well, they say talk about what you know, so I'll begin with the LCom seal of aproval report. First up are the games.

First of all, Flatout for the PS2. This game should be called "Redneck Racing". Even when you get the cars new, they're covered with dirt. The ejectable driver is just a gimmic, considering you can't customise him/her more then gender, the mini-games which feature it are almost impossible past luck, and in game it plays no other part then to piss you off. The physics of the whole thing are buggy anyway. SEAL APROVAL DENIED. Save your money and buy a copy of Burnout 3 since it's cheaper since it went on the greatest hits list, or even wait a month till Burnout 4 comes out.

Next is Advent Rising for PC (and Xbox, but I don't have that one). Well...it's as though you smushed Halo together with the Unreal Tournament 2004 engine, and had Orson Scott Card write it. Probally cause that's what it is (and yes, I did check on that UT engine part...it's true!). My main problem is with this "Flick targeting" system they have, where you scroll the mousewheel to select an enemy to lock on to. Not because it's akward to target that way, but because it rarely targets on the person you want it to, and it's even rarer that it stay locked on long enough to be useul. Aside from that, there's finally a fairly intelligent mixed akimbo weapon system, dodging is intact, abilities that upgrade as you use them more, melee attacks, vechiles, matrix slo-mo dodges and superjumps, multiple firing modes for all weapons, and all the powers that make you want to be a jedi. better then I thought it would be, to be perfectly honest. Yeah, it gets the seal. I'd say lenght is a factor here, cause it took a long time to get off the burning ship, but now I'm getting powers afully fast. But the game is going to be a trilogy series, so I'm not going to complain yet. Plus, they got that "everyone's dead now so survivor boy flips THE FUCK out", and that device always works on me.

Onimusha: Blade Warriors. It's true what they said in that one flash animation: Think SSBM with samuaris and demons. Oh, and soul eating. Gotta like that part. Also goes pretty deep with items to bring into battle and stat boosting, but I can't figure that part out so I just keep cutting things untill someone tells me otherwise. Storymode exists, but I'd call a burning bag of shit "plesantly fragrant" before I say that it has plot. There must be better ways to open characters. Which, by the way, there's Rockman EXE and Rockman Zero. EXE's a wuss, but Zero kicks ass. As per usual. I'm not gonna give it the seal, but I will say keep it around for when you dig out th'ole multitap.

Devil May Cry 3. I'm just gonna quote on this one:

"Dear Devil May Cry 3,
Thanks.
Love, girl gamers."

That, of course, because the game includes much shirtless Dante. For those of us with testicles, the series keeps it's reputation of being freaking hard, lots of orbs, shit explodes, scythes, spiders, towers, more orbs, secrtes, and weapons. This time round tho, there's the addition of "styles" which just changes some of the move you bring with you into battle. I go between gunslinger and swordmaster cause, well, it's just what I do, you know? (If you don't know, I suggest you take note of the games in the two previous reviews. Get it now?) Umm...I'm not gonna call it yet, so remind me to tell yall my decision on it once I get past the giant 3-headed ice doggie. He hurts. Me.

Now for the movies...er, movie. Cause we rented National Treasure too, but I didn't get to watch it cause of...a thing. But that's ok. I know my priorities.

The movie I DID get to see was Kung Fu Hustle. I liked it. It's stupid funny at first, then moves into old-school kung-fu with wires, and then goes into kung-fu with "shit, you see that?" kinda humor. Like frog man. Hehehe...He was insane. And I think I like this Stephen Chow fellow, cause I think he worked on Shaolin Soccer, which was a lot of the same, but seprate in it's own right. Kinda like when you consider Stephen Segal films. And I liked it, so it gets the seal, but now my cousins are well aware of my odd tastes in movies.

Yes...my cousins...Most of you should be aware of the monkey cousins by now. Either because they keep me busy hiking and going on water and what not, or because they have a habit of coming in and comandeering my laptop and proceeding to randomly IM and pester people on my buddy list. Luckily, they only get the opertunity once a year. Yeah...they're ok. I think tehy look up to me, but they're too annoying to tell. But they're an importaint link to my childhood. Y'all know how I don't have siblings, but I did have these 4, and I lived close enough where we went over there a lot. And they're sports people, so that's how I know a lot of sport rules and even the idea of "CAR!!!!" cause we would always play hockey in the street. Now I live up here and they're still down there, so trips are only one week a year, and soon that'll be over to probally cause of college and such interfeering with things.

*sigh* Well, college is the future, so that's someting to save for another time.

As for the present, I've been dying to sew some things. Home ecc was actually one of only 3 classes that I passed with 98-100, the other two being of course Art and Landscape Equipment Repair (read: Lawnmower class). I even had no problem with the cooking section. Of course, that could also have somthing to do with how I used to take classes with Stephen from my uncle who went to college (*sigh*) at the Cullinary Institute of America. Then after the lesson me and Steve would play Power Quest for hours on our Game Boy COLORS. Which just leads me into the fact that I find all my best friendships have always formed through video games. And that just makes me think of how Ryan is actually like my key to sociability, cause aside from him no one ever tells me about or invites me to anything except for Tim (who gets a rant of his own because he's got some fhewwoowooowoooo of his own). Hmm...that seems like an importaint note to explore, but I'm to tired to right now. You ponder it. lazy people.

I like playing 6 degrees of seperation ^_^. I actually used to do it when I was a little kid and couldn't sleep at night. I didn't know that it was a game people play, but it's what I did in my mind just cause. it was either do that or watch golden girls. I think that start has set me up for my current quest to link all my thoughts together in some manner, so that in the end I have just one thought. More efficent then having many random thought I guess.

And um...I know why I haven't been posting nearly as much as I used to. I use this as a sort of brain dump. But lately I've been dumping brain (...eew?) on people that, as it turns out, actually want to hear it. So once it's dumped I don't need to talk anymore, and I just all asleep and stay asleep. Either that, or the things on my mind are things that I just shouldn't say, cause it would either be mean, akward, or something I have no right to talk about.

So yeah, that's my excuse. What's yours?

F*R*A*G:

Drag waiting for the drop out of hyperspace,
Watch another cherry dissapear in that hairy face.
Puff, puff, puff, puff, puff, puff, pass out.
Perhaps this carpet will snap and then lash out.
Just as well if he did, kid,
I think I'd rather fight then waste the pounds to lift this wig.
